Boston Native Maleek Evans, is a multitalented Musician with his main focus being the pedal steel guitar. Maleek has been inspired by many different musicians and genres. From Sacred Steel players like Jason Whitehead, Chuck Campbell, and Darick Campbell, to great musicians like BB King, Eric Gales, Travis Toy, Paul Franklin, and Chris Stapleton. With these influences, Maleek has been able to sculpt his playing in a unique way.

Steel Guitar has been a major part of Maleek’s life for 8 years now. His early years were spent learning the lap steel guitar. As he advanced, Maleek transitioned to playing the pedal steel guitar to which he has grown to favor. Maleek has grown to be an extremely versatile musician with great fluidity in many genres of music.

Maleek was blessed with the opportunity to not only attend Berklee College of Music, but to grace the stage with his gift on steel guitar. A few highlights of Maleek’s music career include; touring as a pedal steel guitarist for award winning Canadian blues vocalist icon; Shakura S'Aida, playing at the 2018 Calgary Folk Festival, and sharing the stage with well known legends.

As Maleek continues on with his music career, he plans to release a instrumental project in the near future.
